  1. I/O ActiveX Control

  3. A self-installing EXE is available from 
  4. "http://www.jspayne.com"
  5.  
  6. This I/O ActiveX control is a software component that can 
  7. be used in any OLE2 compliant programming environment.  
  8. Visual Basic, Delphi, Power Builder Visual C++, Borland C++, 
  9. are some of these environments.  This control lets you read 
  10. and write to both the serial and parallel ports on a PC.

  12. To use this software component you must copy the file IO.OCX 
  13. to the Windows system directory.  You will also need to have 
  14. MFC42.DLL and MSVCRT.DLL present in the Windows system directory.  
  15. If you don't have a copy of MFC42.DLL and MSVCRT.DLL you can download 
  16. the self-installing package from the web site mentioned above.

  18. This zip also contains Visual Basic examples and EXEs.  
  19. To run the EXEs you must have VB40032.DLL installed in your 
  20. Windows system directory.

  22. This version of the I/O ActiveX control is fully functional, 
  23. but it will display a splash/nag screen when the port 
  24. is opened.  This version of the control can be 
  25. freely distributed upon the condition that this documentation 
  26. accompanies the IO.OCX.
